A Grand Time with GrandTales

Kempton of Hermitage is introducing a joyful new intergenerational program called GrandTales, inviting children from the surrounding neighborhood to gather for stories, laughter, and connection.

Each GrandTales event begins with a song, setting the tone for a relaxed and welcoming experience. A Kempton resident volunteer then reads the story of the day to the group, followed by a lighthearted game of balloon toss. While children are engaged, parents can enjoy a cup of coffee and a well-deserved breather as residents happily step in as honorary grandparents. Every child leaves with a goody bag filled with stickers and coloring pages.

At its heart, GrandTales is about connection. Children enjoy meaningful time with older adults, residents find joy and purpose in sharing stories, and parents get a chance to pause. According to Kaleigh Bernal, Sales and Marketing Director at Kempton, everyone benefits. As she puts it, “everyone will enjoy a grand time with GrandTales.”
